Edward’s Boys join the Shakespeare celebrations

Since Shakespeare didn’t write for the boys’ companies, as a rule we don’t usually perform his stuff – unless there’s a very good reason. Like these two… Reason Number One: Saturday 23rd April Edward’s Boys will be staging a special performance, entitled Unperfect Actors. Lasting approximately 25 minutes, the show features sonnets, songs and extracts from the plays of William Shakespeare, and reflects something of the range of styles and tones to be found in his works. “Overawing, insightful, magnetic, inspiring talent”

The UK run of Edward’s Boys’ production of Francis Beaumont’s The Woman Hater concluded on Saturday evening in the beautiful surroundings of King’s College London Chapel. Audiences in London, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon definitely seemed to enjoy our performances, and some of them took to social media to share their impressions…    The first reviews of the production have now appeared online. In The Shakespeare Blog, Sylvia Morris stated that “among acting, singing and playing of uniformly high standard there are several bravura performances.” Stephen Ward reviewed Wednesday’s opening night at The Other Place on his blog The Bard of Tysoe.
