In anticipation of the forthcoming performances of The Lady’s Trial at The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse (Shakespeare’s Globe) on 26th and 27th September, we have produced a short video featuring Director Perry Mills explaining a little about the play’s plot and themes, and members of the cast delivering some of John Ford’s most compelling lines.
The London shows – on Saturday 26th (7.00 pm) and Sunday 27th September (6.00 pm) – follow on from successful performances in Oxford, Walsall and Stratford in March, and present a unique opportunity to see Ford’s final play performed for the first time since the days of Charles I.
The Lady’s Trial is the culmination of The Ford Experiment – a series of John Ford-related events at The Globe. The performance on Saturday 26th forms part of a Study Day where leading scholars and theatre practitioners will share their individual perspectives on Ford’s genius and theatricality.
Tickets for the performances and the Study Day are available separately from the Shakespeare’s Globe Box Office.
